Biography

He studies the piano at the academy in Ostend, musicology and jazz studio with Dierik Wissels and Pierre van Dormael, as well as attending a three-year course at the Brussels Conservatory under Eric Legnini.

In 1995 he joins Peter Vermeersch’s group, X-Legged Sally. His playing credits include work with Arno, Wim Vandekeybus, and Toots Thielemans, and he has written dance music, music for feature films and shorts, and for contemporary arts projects.

He is currently playing and composing for Flat Earth Society, Monsoon, Pierre Vervloesem, etc., as well as teaching improvisation at the Ghent Conservatory (Hogeschool Gent).

Peter Vandenberghe has also recently performed and recorded with the Belgian Band Univers Zer. He has also recorded with Pierre Vervloesem
