Biography

Ivan Goossens initially studied the piano at the Academies of Antwerp and Tilburg where he obtained first prizes for piano and chamber music and the degree of “Docerend Musicus”. It wasn’t until the age of twenty that he started to study singing, also at the conservatory of Antwerp, where he obtained a first prize with Lucienne Van Deyck. Afterwards he perfectioned himself in Amsterdam with Ronald Klekamp and Udo Reinemann. At the moment his vocal coach is Rachel-Ann Morgan.

As a soloist, Ivan gave concerts in the whole of Belgium, in the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Hungary and Mexico. He sang at major festivals such as Festival van Vlaanderen, Festival de Wallonie, Festival Jean-Sébastien Bach Saint-Donat, Centre de Musique Ancienne d’Anjou, Festival de Pontaumur,…

He performed with renowned orchestras and ensembles such as the Flemish Radio Orchestra, Beethoven Academie, Ex Tempore, La Petite Bande, and worked with conductors such as Paul Hillier, Alexander Raghbari, Heinz Karl Gruber, Hervé Niquet, Florian Heyerick, Dirk Vermeulen, Sigiswald Kuyken, Patrick Peire, Etienne Siebens, Edmond Saveniers.
